What families say
My 25-year-old son, who had no prior mental health history, began experiencing troubling thoughts and was later diagnosed with Type 2 Bipolar Disorder. Throughout his stay, he was cared for in a truly nonjudgmental and supportive environment. When I picked him up he said something I will never forget: “This place truly saved my life.”
Red Top was fantastic to help my 18 year old daughter. They were able to diagnose her with bipolar and get her on the proper medication. She is doing fantastic now and the followup from them has also been top notch. We've had multiple experiences with other residential centers here and Red Top is by far the best.
The staff is courteous and knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make my family member feel comfortable and supported. Their grounds area is beautiful and their facility is clean and well maintained. I highly recommend Red Top for top notch care by wonderful professionals!
Your questions, answered
Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare?
We are unable to accept Medicaid or Medicare. We work with most commercial and PPO plans and accept most out-of-network coverage, and we can discuss private pay and financing. If Medicaid or Medicare is your only coverage, tell us on the call and we will point you toward providers who can help.
Is this residential or outpatient care?
Residential. Clients live on site with 24-hour clinical and support staff. If you are looking for weekly therapy, an outpatient program or medication management on its own, Red Top is not the right level of care and we will say so.
What does a typical day look like?
Your day is structured to promote healing without feeling restrictive. Mornings typically include group therapy and breakfast together, afternoons involve individual sessions and holistic therapies, and evenings offer peer connection time and wind-down routines.
Will my employer or family know I'm here?
Your privacy is protected by HIPAA law. We do not share any information about your stay without your explicit written consent. Many clients use FMLA leave or simply take time off — we can provide documentation to support this without disclosing the nature of treatment.
Does my insurance cover residential treatment?
Most major commercial plans cover residential mental health treatment. Our admissions team will verify your benefits at no charge, typically within hours. We work with most PPO plans and can discuss private pay and financing options.
What if I've tried treatment before and it didn't work?
Past treatment failure often means the approach wasn't the right fit, not that you can't recover. Residential care provides a different level of intensity and monitoring that opens up options not available in outpatient settings.
Where exactly are you located?
Cartersville, Georgia, about 45 miles northwest of Atlanta and roughly an hour from Hartsfield-Jackson. Most of our clients come from the Atlanta metro and north Georgia, and we do admit from out of state.
